The downward journey

So as I’m sure you’ve noticed, I’ve been a little quiet on the blog front lately! I’ve been super busy with a few things and the days have just got away with me! So since my last post I’ve had another 2 weigh ins and am now a whole 3 lbs lighter.

I’ll be honest, I’ve been far from angelic the past couple of weeks; this is mainly due to lack of money and trying to eat on a very tight budget, but also thanks to good old aunt flo’s monthly visit and the fact I’ve just wanted to eat anything and everything in sight cause quite frankly, I’ve felt like utter shit!! But the scales have reassured me that I wasn’t quite as naughty as I thought I had been! I also decided to take a few of my measurements for the first time since I started my journey too and I have lost 2 inches off my waist and an inch off my bust so far! My hip measurement however has remained the same, but this doesn’t surprise me as I hardly have any booty to be loosing inches from anyway!

Since my last post, I’ve also treated myself to a fitbit flex… one word, AMAZING!! Although some days it just reminds me how lazy I can be (Usually when its raining and I just want to curl up with Tay in front of the TV!), the majority of the time its extremely motivating! I love hitting my goals and knowing that I’ve had a really active day, it certainly makes me feel better in myself! I also love the silent alarm feature, its much more pleasant than my noisy phone alarm!! There are lots of features I’ve yet to explore on it but I will be doing so very soon!

Not much else to report really, I intend to do a post that focuses upon healthy eating on a budget as quite frankly I struggled a little last week and found myself reaching for the wrong foods all too easy! Watch this space!

Onwards and downwards,

Big love

The dreaded weigh in!

So I’m a little late posting this considering weigh day was on Thursday, but my reasons shall be told in this post!

So I completed a week following the SP plan; my week wasn’t perfect I will admit, but I tried damn hard! So I’m sure you can imagine I was eager for a good loss… Instead the scales showed a measly 1 lb loss!! What’s that all about?! Now don’t get me wrong, a loss is a loss, and I’m pleased to have lost but I had really set myself up for more! I had been naughty and jumped on the scales at my parents house on the Wednesday and it showed almost a 3lb loss so I really had hoped the scales at boots would agree!

Anyway, after my disappointing weigh in I felt really disheartened and was wondering why I had even bothered trying so hard! I really wasn’t in the best head space that evening and so didn’t want to write a post and it be super negative. Instead I decided to have a few flexi days, not so I could eat rubbish, but just so I could relax about all things food and regather my thoughts! I feel a lot better for having a few days ‘off plan’ and now feel I’m ready to continue on my journey!  I have drawn a line under last weeks disappointment and am instead taking the positives from it!

I have been doing much thinking around why I think my week wasn’t as successful as I’d anticipated it would be and I think that maybe the following could have impacted…

Water intake – I don’t drink any where near as much water as I should, I often get to tea time before I realise I’ve not drank anything for the day! This is a habit I really need to break as having a dehydrated body slows the metabolism down, thus making weight loss significantly less.

(Yes I am aware of the typo in the above lol!)

food volume – some days I don’t think I ate enough, I skipped meals, grabbed quick snacks instead of proper food and just generally could have eaten much more at times. I know from experience that eating more of the right foods really does increase losses; the more you eat, the more you lose!

Another possible factor is that my kitchen scales has broken so I wasn’t able to weigh my healthy extras where needed, so I may well have gone slightly over on them therefore adding a few extra syns to my week?!

So with these thoughts in mind I am ready to get my head back in the game! Not tonight however, tonight is all you can eat curry night for Robs birthday and I intend to enjoy it!!

onwards and downwards,

big love

Extra Easy SP – Day 7

so its my final day of SP, and I’m not gonna pretend Ive had a perfect week but Ive tried damn hard, here’s how my day went…

breakfast:

image

egg toastie with HEB wholemeal bread, HEA cheese and extra light mayo. Followed by a huge bowl of melon

lunch:

I wanted something quick so I made a BBQ mugshot… Which went straight in the bin! Yukk!!! Won’t be wasting money on them again! So I ended up having a small bowl of honeyΒ nut cornflakes (5 syns per 25g) instead as I was hungry and didn’t have time to make much else!

Tea:

image

I made a super yummy teriyaki beef stir fry packed with lots of veggies and some noodles! It was really lovely! I used a pack of teriyaki marinated beef strips from asda, which unfortunately I can’t find the syns for but I really can’t imagine it being high as there was barely any marinade. I added some soy sauce to the beef in order to create a bit of a sauce and added a pack of mushroom stir fry veg along with extra peppers, spring onions and baby corn. I love stir fry’s cause they’re just so simple and healthy and you can put literally anything in them! I had 2 pieces of garlic bread with it which really wasn’t worth the 9 syns!! πŸ‘ŽπŸ»

i also snacked on fruit throughout the day and had a cheeky viscount (3.5 syns)

its weigh day tomorrow… Wish me luck!

Extra Easy SP – Day 6

well I’m nearing the end of my SP week, and I really hope I’ve lost something, in fact, any loss at all is fine by me!

Today has been a rubbish day food wise, and here’s why…!!!

Breakfast –

image

I started ny day with branflakes (HEB1) and mixed fruit & nuts (HEB2) with skimmed milk (1/2 HEA)

lunch –

today I didn’t have lunch! 😞 I had a super busy morning and didn’t actually get home until 3.30 so I didn’t see much point in having lunch then!

Tea –

I decided to pop to asda to see if I could find something nice for tea, not the smartest idea when you’ve not eaten since 7am and are super Β hungry! I did manage to maintain some self control however and bought myself a chicken flatbread salad that was too much of a bargain to leave (Reduced to 75p)! Plus it would mean no cooking so I could eat sooner! I’ve no idea how many syns it is (I will update when I can find out!) but I bulked it out with more salad.

image image

I know now what you’re thinking, surely that’s not so bad? Well no it’s not, what is bad is the bit of robs chicken breast stuffed with sausage meat and wrapped in bacon, the tiny slice of salted caramel traybake and the little bit of Chelsea bun I also ate! Doh!! I don’t resist temptation well when I’m hungry!! Hey ho, what’s done is done!

I bought myself a curly wurly in Asda as I’ve been really craving something a bit naughty, but I think maybe that should wait until tomorrow now!! πŸ™Š

Tomorrow is a new day!

Onwards and downwards,

Big love

Extra Easy SP – Day 5

monday again… 😏

a pretty boring day food wise if I’m honest, and I went over my syns by accident (I genuinely forgot what I’d eaten earlier in the day!) but here goes…

breakfast –

branflakes (HEB1) with skimmed milk (1/2 HEA)

lunch –

it was a late lunch due to a busy morning so a tuna Mayo (2 syns), cucumber and spring onion sandwich on wholemeal bread (HEB2) followed by 2 digestives (7 syns)

tea –

image

left over bolognaise with the rest of my HEA cheese followed by a huge bowl of melon and a viscount (3.5 syns)

i also had an apple, banana and melon in the evening and half a tub of low fat lemon yogurt which cost me a whole 7 syns, taking my total syns for the day to 19.5!! But on a positive note, I’ve not used all my syns on any day so far this week so I guess I can let myself off!

onwards and downwards,

big love

😘

Extra Easy SP: Day 4.

So of course yesterday, day 4, was a Sunday… And Sunday only means one thing: tea at the parents!! I was certainly not missing out on that, slimming world or no slimming world! 😏

So here’s how day 4 went!

breakfast –

image

wholemeal toast (HEB1) with scrambled egg and bacon. Followed by melon and banana.

Lunch –

image

I fried off some chicken strips in frylight and Cajun spices along with some cherry tomatoes, yellow pepper and spinach. Served alongside some mixed salad leaves. I fancied something sweet afterwards so I had a mint viscount (3.5 syns)

Tea –

image

Tea – a yummy pork casserole made by Mumma 😍 (2 syns for the gravy) with mixed veg, roast potatoes (2 syns for oil) and Yorkshire pudding (2.5 syns)

I snacked on fruit between meals and I also had a cheese sandwich using the 2nd HEB and HEA cheese.

so that was my day πŸ™‚

onwards and downwards

Extra Easy SP – Day 3

So yesterday was day 3 (I’m a little later than usual writing this post!)

Although it was a good day for me, I didn’t eat half as much speed food as I’d wanted and due to being so busy all afternoon lunch was very much a case of whatever I could grab and eat in less than 5 minutes! So here’s my day in food…

Breakfast:

Branflakes (HEB1) and Skimmed milk (1/2 HEA)

Lunch:

Wholemeal bread (HEB2) with Kerry Low Low cheese spread (1/2 HEA) followed by a banana

Tea:

Asda chosen by you Bhuna curry sauce (the whole jar was 14 syns, so the portion I had came in at 3.5 syns) with chicken, onion, garlic and peppers. Served with a little basmati rice and 1.5 poppadoms (6 syns)

I then had a bowl of melon, strawberries and fat free natural yogurt

i also sneaked half a dozen of Taylor’s white chocolate jazzies (these come in at 6.5syns per 25g so I’m allowing 3 syns even though I’m sure that’s way over compensating!!

And thats my day πŸ™‚ I also did rather a lot of body magic today in the form of cleaning and a decent amount of steps so I’m sure the lack of spend foods won’t hinder my week too much πŸ™‚

Extra easy SP- day 2

Another day of good food choices for this fatty πŸ‘πŸ»

Breakfast:

“Fry-up” Slimming world style! Wholemeal toast (HEB1) with scrambled egg, mushrooms cooked in frylight, bacon with all fat removed and grilled tomatoes.

Lunch:

A simple sandwich… Wholemeal bread (HEB2), Ham, spinach and extra light Mayo (1 syn). Followed by melon, kiwi, banana and nectarine!

Tea:

Cajun spiced pork (all visible fat removed) with carrot and butternut squash mash, kale, pointed cabbage and purple sprouting broccoli.

The only snack I’ve had today is a chocolate digestive (4 syns) at toddler group and a tsp of sugar in my coffee (1 syn) so I shall be using my HEA with a sachet of options hot chocolate (2 syns) this evening 😊

Onwards and downwards,

Big love

😘

Extra Easy SP – Day 1

So today was weigh in day and I weighed in at exactly the same as I did last weigh in… Pretty chuffed considering in that time I’ve had my trip away and been off plan for a few days! It also showed a decrease in my body fat percentage which is a huge bonus and show a step in the right direction despite not actually losing any weight since last time!

As well as weigh in, today was also my first day properly following the Extra Easy SP Plan for a week! And it’s been a good day food wise! Here’s my food diary for today…

Breakfast:

Bran flakes (HEB1) with skimmed milk (1/2 HEA) and raisins and nuts (HEB2)

Lunch:

Ham salad with mixed salad leaves, spinach, cucumber, tomatoes, radishes, peppers, onion, gherkins, cheese (1/2 HEA) and 1tbsp extra light mayo (1 syn)

Followed by honeydew melon and an apple

Tea:

Homemade bolognese (beef mince, onion, garlic, peppers, mushrooms, tinned tomatoes, tomato purΓ©e, basil and oregano) with a small serving of wholemeal pasta.

Followed by a small helping of fat free natural yogurt and a tsp of honey (1 syn)

So as I’ve been so good today and only used 2/15 syns so far, I will be treating myself to a viscount (3.5 syns) with my cuppa this evening!

Onwards and downwards,

Big love

😘
